Falls Church, VA This was my first car buying experience. Being a female, I thought it would be a bit challenging so I recruited my bf to help me out. The best thing we did was negotiate the out the door price, and play off one another. He would suggest a price, I would so no, and of course they would go lower. We probably could have gotten a better deal, but considering the new alitma coupes were still a pretty hot commodity, I thought we did alright. I also put a large down payment on the car, which I thought helped.
Pros: Called to follow up and the service team is good, so far Cons: After I bought the car, i found out the 2 year of free oil changes he offered to get us to agree was part of a package for every new vehicle bought at the dealership. San Antonio, TX It was a good buying experience. I submitted my info online and the dealership called me. I negotiated the price over the phone and came to an agreement. Went in to do the paperwork, had to wait till the next day for the car. I was in Corpus Christi.

Pros: I led the salesman to the car I wanted, not the other way around. Test drove it alone for more than an hour alone, and bought it on the spot. The 3.5 coupe had been marked down to 28,500 to reduce inventory prior to year's end and another grand was knocked off the price to close the cash deal. Cons: None I can think of. Los Angeles, CA I was an early adopter and picked up one of the first Altima Coupes in town, which always comes at a premium. I used Costco's car buying program to get the best price. No other dealer in LA would sell it to me under MSRP since the car was so new, but Downtown LA Motors is partnered with Costco and honored their prenegotiated price.
Pros: Only Nissan dealer in LA part of the Costco car buying program. The dealership offered free scheduled oil changes for life! Not a Nissan program; specific to Downtown LA Motors (and I don't know if they still offer it). Miami, FL Like all dealers, they are good when you walk in the first time and once you come back you are not an appreciated customer.
Pros: Had vehicle I wanted. Gave me $20 under MSRP for a "hot" and "limited" vehicle at the time of purchase. Cons: Since it was a very new vehicle they were not willing to offer any discounts. Came back to fix a minor scratch they had caused before delivery and had to come back twice. Salesperson and everybody I dealt with were very irresponsible. Henderson, NV same as any other dealer they dont listen I told them what I was willin to pay and they came back with different #s finnally after I asked if the salesman had a hearing problem I started to leave then the sales manager came out and i told him what I was willing to pay and he finally accepted my offer. I believe the key to purchasing a car is doing your homework[research the car you want invoice with options] and go in prepared give them your best offer and stick to your guns. Its unfortunate that most people go and buy a car out of necessity when I went to buy the car I told the dealer I wasnt in need of a new car that I already had a car and the only way I would buy one is that I was given the deal on my terms and my price. Glendale, AZ Absolutely awesome. I had priced the vehicle online and with other dealerships in the trim, color, and style that I wanted. I then went into the west valley dealer and walked straight to the "manager" desk and asked if they had a car with what I wanted. Told them the price I would pay and asked if they were willing to deal? Of course, I low-balled the offer big time. They counter offered with something about $3200 more. I explained to them I wanted to buy it right that second and would be paying cash. They said they didn't have the vehicle there but would go to Tucson to get it for me for free. I then counter-offered with the $28,500 explaining that the invoice was $28,900 on the vehicle. The manager shook my hand and told me he would call me when it came in. They called me that night, I bought the car the next day, wrote a check for the full amount and walked out within an hour.
Pros: Straight forward, no haggling, friendly, expediant. Cons: Too many salesman for such a slow dealer. Felt like I was being bombarded when I came back the next day.
