Tips from Nissan Versa Hatchback Buyers

bankston nissan
Irving, TX
The salesman part of it was okay, it was at the financing part where the screwing happened. They were pushy selling you stuff you don't want. At the end I ended up signing for a coverage that costed me about 850 dollars that I realized later I did not need (I cancelled immediately) and after 3 months Nissan gave me back those 850 dollars. it was slow but they delivered.

Pros: They were able to give me credit (approved by nissan) when other dealers did not.

Cons: I went to several dealers, and they did not give enough trade in value for my tahoe. Bankston nissan did the same thing. They don't go by Bluebook or Nada values, they have their own list of values that makes sure you loose about 2,000 or 3,000 dollars from what the blue book or nada values says. I took advantage of the Obama's 4,500 dollars help to help me get rid of a vehicle that I was upside down with.

Felt like I got a great deal. Worked with a salesman named Mike. They had a great promotion on 2 cars and I got one of them.

Pros: Instead of just receiving the 5 year power train warranty they did a 7 year deal. Lot's of other incentives like road side assistance, tire protection for one year, and oil changes for $19.95 (for 3 years I think), free loaner car if work exceeds 3 hours.

Cons: Wouldn't budge off of their advertised price, but I still thought I got a great deal. At another Nissan dealership they were not budging off the MSRP for a 1.6 liter at $13100 and I I got mine for $13860 after their promotion for a 1.8 S.

WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE WAY THEY TRIED TO HIDE THE INITIAL APR ON THE MONTHLY PMT THEY QUOTED ME. THEN TRIED TO CONVIENCE ME THEY WERE SAVING ME $4000 BY CHANGING FROM 72 MONTHS TO 60 MONTHS WITH A 7.9%APR. THEIR FIRST QUOTE THEY GAVE ME WAS BASED ON A 15.9%APR. I TOLD THEM THEY WEREN'T SAVING ME ANYTHING BECAUSE I WASN'T GOING TO PAY 15.9% IN THE FIRST PLACE. YOU HAVE TO BE SO CAREFULL WITH AUTO DEALERS. THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE MONTHLY PAYMENT YOU WANT AND JACK THE INTEREST RATE UP TO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET IT THERE WHEN THEY CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER. DIDN'T LIKE THE PRESSURE.

Pros: SUPPLY

Cons: PRESSURE! THIS IS DONE BY HAVING THE "TEAM LEADER" COME OUT AND TRY TO CONVIENCE YOU WHAT A DEAL YOU ARE GETTING.

It was good. I happend to go early when only the oweners son was able to help me and he made me a deal that was hard to refuese. So I bought the car.

Pros: Honored the quoted price when it was not a great money maker for them.

Cons: Small selection of Versas with ABS.

Ordered in exact car I was looking for and it came in when expected. This was the third car I bought from them.

Pros: My salesman showed me several different cars they had on the lot but did not try to push any particular one. He ended up ording in one for us. Gave us what I thought was a fair value on our trade in.

Cons: Wasn't willing to come off of sticker price much but gave good trade in.

Did the entire transaction via email, exception for the paperwork and final delivery. Already knew what model and options we wanted.

Pros: Did not need to haggle with the price, when I told them what I wanted they made an offer on what they had in inventory without my asking them to drop the price some more.

Cons: None

The dealership sales and management knew less about the Versa then I did and knew nothing about detailing a car for delivery.

Pros: Close to where I live.

I had previous discussion with the sales person to verify that they had the car I was looking for at the price I wished to pay, yet still had to spend hours at their dealership. For some reason they PRETEND to have exactly what you are looking for, color, features, price, but then try to sell you a slightly different car. We ended up with more car for less than previously discussed, but the extra hours were less than fun.

Pros: I think I got a good deal.

Cons: It took too long, considering we had many discussion prior to my visiting the lot. The next time I buy a car I will take a stop watch and tell the sales person they have exactly 1 hour to close the deal or I walk.

Great staff, mechanics help you out with anything or questions you have. Delivery quick and painless overall great service

Pros: Great service "Had a odd light on didn't know about explained to me in detail what it was and turned out to be nothing" Sellers were willing to negotiate prices and search all around to find me the car that I wanted down to the kick plates

Cons: Nothing really except they close a little early and you have to schedual a little ahead to get an oil change but they do it for free the first few and check everyhting else on the car

I had actually gone to another dealer to negotiate my price and had a terrible time. I called this dealer's Manager and asked what they could do for me.

Pros: They were honest and upfront and treated me like a person not just a girl buying a car. When they realized they had agreed to something they couldn't do they offered me more on my trade in (which was non operational) in order to meet me half way. I really appreciated their honesty.

Cons: None
