Tips from Subaru Forester Buyers

Village Subaru
Acton, MA
Fairly straightforward negotiations. Only had to 'talk to manager' twice. Had the best price over e-mail and was willing to drop price even more in competition with another dealer.

Pros: Minimal game-playing by salesman if you are confident about your target price. Generally good Yelp and Google+ reviews for sales.

Cons: None

The price was good. Car was still in factory wrappings and dealer made effort to have the car ready for us to take home that day. Make sure you look the car over before finalizing the deal. Found one inch deep scratch on rear bumper.

Pros: Their dealer charges were more reasonable than some dealers. Friendly person for their internet site, who responded to all my requests for quotes and questions.

Cons: They used the "packing" trick for presenting the loan payment. Scratch on rear bumper was not disclosed to us. Financial person misrepsented covered items in the extended warranty, he implide bumper to bumper, it is not.

The actual price I paid ($28,045) included all dealer costs including conveyance fee. I got this great price by researching the price of the vehicle and then having dealers in my area compete against one another by email only. I never spoke to any dealer. I refused to visit any dealership (even though they kept asking) to keep the upper hand. Once I got the lowest price I could; I went to that dealership after I got email confirmation that the price included everything I asked for (options and dealer fees). I then went to the dealer to purchase the car. That was the first time I spoke to and met my dealer. The whole process took two weeks and saved me a lot of money.

Pros: My dealer wanted my business so he would meet the prices I gave him.

Cons: None

well I think dealerships know u wud bargain so they start from a inflated price and try to get u up to theire price. it wud be better to wait for them to come down- wait for a week or two- they wud call u and slowly lower their rates!!!

Pros: nothing except they give u a lower price quote compared to other delaers in teh area- though I am pretty sure these guys would have dropped down by 500$ easily had I waited for a week.

Cons: rude , aggresive salesman. also they wont give u a test drive if they feel u wont take it from them--

Very quick and simple. I had gotten prices over the phone from several dealerships and knew what I wanted. They understood that, and we had agreed on a price in about 15 mins.

Pros: Friendly, no bull, low price.

Cons: Slow detailing/car prep (1.5 hours total from price agreement to drive away)
