Car shoppers often cite reliability as a key factor when deciding which vehicle to purchase. Consumer Reports has their annual reliability rankings, but that's based on customer feedback and can be sowewhat subjective. That's why it's important to combine that with objective data, such as CarMD's Reliability Study which was just released last week.

The study was based on 163,000 repairs performed as a result of a "check engine" light incident over a recent 12-month period. The repairs were performed by CarMD's network of certified automotive technicians.

The study ranked the top 100 most reliable vehicles, the most common repairs, and the average cost of the repairs. According to the study, the most reliable vehicle right now is the 2010 Toyota Corolla. Below, you'll find the top 10 list as well as the top 3 by category.
