Top 20 Cheapest Cars to Insure for 2011

car insuranceThe price of your new car is only one factor when it comes to the overall cost.

Many people forget about costs such as insurance, fuel, depreciation, and repairs.

Over the life of your vehicle, these costs usually end up being more than what you originally paid for the car - so it pays to do some research before you buy.

Insure.com has just released their list of the cheapest cars to insure for 2011.

Minivans, compact crossovers, and SUVs top the list for the cheapest cars to insure while sports cars and luxury cars are the most expensive.

The main factors that affect the cost of insurance include the cost of repair, the typical driving behavior of owners for that particular car, and overall safety.

It's not surprising that minivans such as the Chrysler Town & Country made it to the top of the list.

Here are the top 20 cheapest cars to insure for 2011:

3 Steps Every Car Buyer Needs to Take to Save Maximum Money

The key to getting the best deal is to gather price or lease bids from as many local dealers as possible. Then shop that best price around until no one can beat it. Here are the steps:

Step 1 Get Prices From My Trusted Network

Select the vehicle you're interested in to see if there are local dealers in my network who will provide you with their best upfront price. You will get direct access to an internet sales manager who you can further negotiate with online (no need to visit dealership).

Step 2 Get Prices From TrueCar / CarsDirect

TrueCar, and CarsDirect are my top 2 online price quote recommendations. These services show you pre-negotiated prices from dealers closest to you - and the deals are usually pretty decent. But remember, you can still negotiate further.
