Best Car Deals for March

They say March comes in like a lion, and it is certainly roaring with hot deals for those looking to purchase or lease a new vehicle.

US News & World Report has the full scoop on these deals, which are reportedly in an effort to boost lower February sales due to harsh winter weather.

When it comes to purchasing a new car, a number of companies are offering large cash back offers. For example, Toyota is offering $1,000 on the Camry, Tundra and Venza in March, while Ford is offering up to $4,500 back on the 2014 Taurus. There are also lots of financing deals to be had, such as 0% financing from Volkwagen for the 2014 Jetta and interest-free financing from Nissan on some 2014 models.

As for leasing, deals include $210 a month for the 2014 Honda Civic sedan with $0 down and the 2014 Subaru Forester for $239 a month for three years with $1,939 due at signing.

As always, make sure to use TrueCar to see the best deals available in your local area.

3 Steps Every Car Buyer Needs to Take to Save Maximum Money

The key to getting the best deal is to gather price or lease bids from as many local dealers as possible. Then shop that best price around until no one can beat it. Here are the steps:

Step 1 Get Prices From My Trusted Network

Select the vehicle you're interested in to see if there are local dealers in my network who will provide you with their best upfront price. You will get direct access to an internet sales manager who you can further negotiate with online (no need to visit dealership).

Step 2 Get Prices From TrueCar / CarsDirect

TrueCar, and CarsDirect are my top 2 online price quote recommendations. These services show you pre-negotiated prices from dealers closest to you - and the deals are usually pretty decent. But remember, you can still negotiate further.

Step 3 Complete my Checklist

Follow this up with my checklist to make sure you squeeze out every last bit of savings.
