Biggest Price Drops on New Cars

As some of you may know, Tesla has cut prices dramatically this year. I wanted to see just how big of a price drop it was compared to the beginning of the year - and see if any other models come close to these price cuts.

I sifted through historical data and averaged out the prices each model was selling for in January 2023, and compared it to the average price they're selling for today. All of the data you see in the table below is based on the average selling prices including all rebates, discounts, or dealer add-ons (some of the vehicles were selling for above MSRP in January).

The important column to note is the % discount. This basically shows how much cheaper these cars have become today compared to the beginning of the year. The Tesla Model S has had an incredible 31.5% drop in price - that comes to a $38,000 price drop. If you waited to buy a Model S since January, you saved over $4,000 per month!
