Nissan Special Deals Alert

As we're nearing the end of the month, I wanted to alert you to special deals you can get on the Nissan Rogue, Pathfinder, and Frontier this month. These models have not been selling well, and Nissan has introduced a sales tactic that is hated by dealers called stair step incentives.

This type of incentive forces dealers to compete like crazy towards the end of the month, because the amount they get for each vehicle depends on how many they sell. And if they only need to sell a few more to reach their goals, they will offer incredible discounts!

We know through leaks that Nissan is offering dealers between $200 and $750 for each of these vehicles sold this October. Dealers get $200 for each vehicle if they hit 90% of their monthly goal (set by Nissan each month). If they hit 100% of their goal, the incentive ratches up to $500 for each car sold, and if they sell 120% of their goal, they get $750 for each vehicle. This is all retroactive, which means instead of getting $200 for the cars they sold earlier, they will get $500 or $750 for those once they hit their higher goals at end of the month!

This forces dealers to gamble in order to reach that goal and get the retroactive incentive for all Rogues, Pathfinders, and Frontiers they sell this month. If they miss the goal, they stand to lose out on thousands of dollars. This is why this incentive is so valuable to car shoppers. If you come across one of these desperate dealers at the end of the month (which is now), they may be willing to offer you a deal that's thousands of dollars below cost - because they'll make it up with the higher incentives they get for each vehicle they sold throughout the month.
