There's good news for BMW enthusiasts: Lexus is currently the leading luxury car maker in the US and BMW is motivated to beat them.
While the BMW has always sold well as a luxury car, it has remained far behind Lexus's top rank for the past several years. Only recently have its sales begun to catch up to those of its rival.
So far this year, BMW has been trailing Lexus by only 2,293 sales - a major improvement. At a time when car sales haven't been doing that well, BMW's sales dropped by only 28% compared to Lexus' plummet of 40%.
BMW still has a long way to go if it wants to beat Lexus. This August, Lexus outsold the German maker by 3,600 vehicles, and it remains solidly in the lead thanks to its ever-popular RX crossover.
That's exactly why prospective BMW buyers have a lot to look forward to in the coming months. In vying for top status, BMW's objective is to beat Lexus in sales for the first time in history. This will give them huge bragging rights and a boost in marketing.
Naturally, BMW will try to do what it takes - which means they will probably introduce some very sweet incentives if the race is close at the end of the year.
We'll keep you updated in the coming months - you may have a chance to land the car of your dreams at an incredible price.
