10 Cars Owners Keep Forever

January 5, 2017

Here's an interesting article from Forbes this week. They highlight the top 10 vehicles where the owners are most likely to keep for 10 years or longer.

All of the cars on the list are from Japanese manufacturers, with Toyota holding the top 4 spots. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid comes in #1, with a whopping 32.1% of owners keeping the vehicle for a decade or longer. Check out the full list below, especially if you like to hold onto your vehicle a long time.

As always, I recommend using TrueCar No Haggle, RydeShopper and CarsDirect to see the lowest prices your local dealers are willing to offer.

Vehicle% of 10+ Year Owners
Toyota Highlander Hybrid32.1%
Toyota Prius32.0%
Toyota Highlander29.0%
Toyota Sienna28.7%
Honda Pilot27.2%
Honda CR-V25.2%
Toyota RAV424.9%
Subaru Forester24.2%
Lexus RX Hybrid24.1%
Honda Odyssey24.0%

My Recommendation for Car Shoppers

TrueCar, RydeShopper, and CarsDirect are the best way to see the lowest car prices in your area. These sites show you no-haggle prices from dealers closest to you - and the deals are usually really good. This should be the first step you take when negotiating your car price. Follow this up with my checklist to make sure you squeeze out every last bit of savings.
