Top 10 Most Popular Cars Right Now

June 9, 2011

There was a big drop in car sales last month, especially with Japanese models.

Toyota was hit the hardest, with a huge 28% drop from a year ago. Their Lexus division was down 40%!

Honda sales dropped 16% while Nissan lost 9%.

Subaru was down 15.3% after posting months of strong sales.

Ford and GM fared better, seeing sales drop only 0.1% and 1.2% respectively.

Ford's new 2012 Focus was up 31.7% - to 22,303 units, and Chevy's Cruze beat Focus with 22,711 units sold.

Chrysler was in positive territory, with sales increasing 10% thanks to the new Chrysler 200 sedan, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Dodge Durango SUVs.

Chrysler rolled past Toyota and Honda to become the #3 most popular automaker in the U.S. behind GM and Ford.

There is a new online car buying service called Roadster, available only to California residents, which I highly recommend you try - especially if you hate the stress of haggling with a car salesman. They provide an expert concierge who negotiates the price of the car and delivers it to your home with zero hassle - you never have to interact with a dealership. Here is my in-depth review of Roadster and why I recommend it.
