Now a Good Time For Chevy Deals
This week, an article in Automotive News (a trade journal for car dealers) caught my eye - it was about how some Chevrolet dealers were upset with a new incentives programs Chevrolet is offering.
Whenever dealers are upset about something, it's usually a good thing for car shoppers - and this is exactly one of those cases.
The article goes over a new incentives program from Chevrolet called "Flex Cash", which awards dealers based on their previous month's sales numbers. Flex Cash allows dealers to discount new cars by up to $4,000, and lease deals by up to $2,000. The more cars a dealer sells, the more Flex Cash they will have to offer next month.
Low volume dealers see this as being unfair (which is actually true), but as car shoppers, their loss is our gain.
However, you need to know how to take advantage of this new incentives program. You can't just assume that any Chevrolet dealer you go to will have this available. The most important thing you need to do to take advantage of this program is to get bids from at least 7 different dealerships - basically use my step-by-step negotiation process to squeeze every last cent of Flex Cash you can.
And as always, I recommend using TrueCar No Haggle and CarsDirect as a quick and easy way to see prices your local dealers are willing to offer.
