Chrysler Offers $4,500 Rebate to Promote Cash for Clunkers

July 23, 2009

Chrysler To help kick off the "cash for clunkers" program, Chrysler has announced it will offer an incredible $4,500 rebate or 0% financing for 72 months to all customers starting July 23 and ending August 31.

Under the "cash for clunkers" program, car buyers can get vouchers of up to $4,500 from the government if they trade-in a used car that gets less than 18 mpg for one that gets at least 22 mpg.

If you were to take full advantage of the "cash for clunkers" program AND buy a Chrysler, you're looking at a $9,000 cash discount.

The rebate is good for all Chrysler vehicles except the Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Challenger and Dodge Sprinter.

Without a doubt, this makes it the best time EVER to buy a Chrysler vehicle. The chance to get $9,000 chopped off the price of a new car before any negotiation takes place is simply amazing.

My Recommendation for Car Shoppers

TrueCar No-Haggle, Edmunds Price Promise, and 1-800 Car Show are the quickest way to see the lowest car prices in your area. These sites show you no-haggle prices from dealers closest to you - and the deals are usually really good. This should be the first step you take when negotiating your car price. Follow this up with my checklist to make sure you squeeze out every last bit of savings.

California Residents - Important:

There is a new online car buying service called Roadster, available only to California residents, which I highly recommend you try - especially if you hate the stress of haggling with a car salesman. They provide an expert concierge who negotiates the price of the car and delivers it to your home with zero hassle - you never have to interact with a dealership. Here is my in-depth review of Roadster and why I recommend it.
