Chevrolet Ups Incentives on 3 Models
January 14, 2016Chevrolet has increased dealer incentives on three popular models this month: Cruze, Malibu, and Silverado. Under the new program, Chevrolet will pay dealers up to $1,000 each time they sell one of these vehicles (as long as dealers hit certain sales targets).
This type of incentive is typically referred to as a "stair-step incentive", which tends to benefit high-volume, low-margin dealerships. It encourages dealers to price some vehicles below cost near the end of each month - this is to ensure they hit their sales targets and not miss out on the bonus cash, which can be worth tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The best way to take advantage of this type of incentive is to wait towards the end of the month and get bids from multiple dealers (I recommend 7 dealerships) - here's the step-by-step guide you should follow.
