Ford F-150 Performs Best in Crash Test
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently tested the safety of extended-cab and crew-cab versions of full-size pickup trucks, and the surprising result is that the Ford F-150 was the only one out of 7 that earned a "good" rating.The Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra, Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra all earned "marginal" or "acceptable" ratings. Each of these models allowed a significant amount of intrusion into the passenger compartment on the small-overlap test, meaning the driver's in these pickups would need help freeing their legs from the wreckage.
